How to make an anniversary gift list

An anniversary list is usually for two people. Guests often ask what to bring, and a list gives them one answer without a group chat.

You can keep it small: a few shared gifts, a few things for the home, and one link.

Agree who the list is for

A list for the couple is the simplest. Both names go in the title, and guests see one place for the celebration.

If the list is a surprise, keep the magic link to the person planning it. The other partner can still open the public link, but cannot edit the list.

Mix an experience with something to keep

An anniversary gift does not have to be an object. A dinner, a night away, a cooking class or concert tickets can be the best gift for a couple who already have the basics.

Add one or two things to keep as well: a print, a frame, a piece of jewellery, a photo book. A mix gives guests a choice.

Add the detail for a shared gift

SortGift does not split a price between several people. If friends want to share a larger present, add it once and let them agree among themselves before one person reserves it.

Put "group gift" in the note and add the full price. The list then shows that the gift is taken, so nobody buys it twice.

Set a comfortable range

Add small, mid-range and larger gifts. A colleague and a close friend should both find something that fits. A price is optional, so you can add an idea without a number.

Share it lightly

Send the link to the people who ask, or put it on the invitation. Add a line that a card or a visit is enough. A list is an answer, not a request.

If the celebration has a theme or a dress code, put that in the message, not in the gift list.

After the celebration

Open the editor to see what is reserved. Reveal the gift-givers when you want to write thank-you notes. Delete the list when you are done, or keep it for the next year.

Common questions

Do guests need an account?+

No. They open the share link, reserve a gift and type their name. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password.

Can two people reserve the same gift?+

No. Once a gift is reserved it shows as taken, so the next guest sees that it is handled. A guest can undo a reservation from the same browser.

Can we use one list for the party and the anniversary?+

Yes. One list can serve the celebration and the day itself. Guests reserve once, so the same gift is not bought twice.

Can we ask for money or a trip fund?+

Yes, as a note on the list. SortGift does not process payments or collect money, so guests arrange it with you directly. Keep account details out of the public list.

Make the list, then send one link.

Add gifts from any shop, share the link, and let people reserve without an account.
