What SortGift stores.

SortGift is a free gift-list app. You do not need an account, an email address or a password. This page explains what the app stores, who can see it, and how to remove it.
What we store

The app database does not store email addresses, passwords, phone numbers, payment details or IP addresses.
Who can see a list
- The share link. Anyone with it can see the list, the gifts and which gifts are reserved. It does not show the gift-givers' names.
- The magic link. Anyone with it can edit the list, see the reservations and reveal the names. Keep it private. The link is the account.
- Reveal. The owner sees that a gift is reserved, but not who reserved it, until the owner chooses Reveal gift-givers.
- Search engines. Gift lists are unlisted and sent with
noindex. They are not password-protected. Share the link only with the people you invited.

SortGift sets no advertising cookies. The two list cookies are httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read them.
Analytics
SortGift uses Google Analytics 4 with the measurement ID G-VT1FRE0PKN. The script loads only after you press Accept. If you decline, the site works the same and no request goes to Google.
Visitors in the EU, EEA, the UK and Switzerland see the consent banner. The check uses the country that Cloudflare reports, then the browser time zone and language. This is a best effort: a VPN or a travel booking can show the banner to the wrong person.
The events are page views, list created, gift added, gift reserved, share link, public list opened, owner link clicked and failed reservation. The editor token and the list address are replaced with /manage/[token] and /list/[list]. SortGift does not send names, list titles, product names, slugs or tokens to Google. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off.
Google may process data outside your country. See the Google privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Decline also removes the Google Analytics cookies.
How long it stays
- Lists stay until the owner deletes them. There is no automatic deletion.
- The two list cookies last one year, or until you clear them in your browser.
- Google Analytics keeps data for the period set in the GA4 property. Contact us for the current period.
How to delete it
- A list. Open the editor with the magic link and choose Delete this list. This removes the list, every gift and every reservation.
- A reservation. Open the share link in the same browser and choose Undo reservation. The owner can also delete the gift.
- Cookies. Clear them in your browser, or choose Decline in Cookie settings to remove the Analytics cookies.
- Analytics data. Contact us and we will help.
